| Title: | Cyanoprokaryota blooms in the polyhumic Siemianówka Dam Reservoir in 1992-2003 |

| Abstract: | The multiannual and seasonal variation of phytoplankton biomass was investigated in a polymictic, polyhumic dam reservoir. The high values of total phytoplankton biomass with a very significant share of Cyanoprokaryota indicated the waters of the reservoir have already become more eutrophic since its creation. The predominance of Cyanoprokaryota was favored by poor light and rich nutrient conditions, high water temperature, long water retention time, the absence of macrophytes, the poor development of large cladocerans, and the high biomass of fish dominated by Cyprinidae. |
