You can send us color and black&white graphics but most figures are submitted as black&white in printed version of Oceanological and Hydrobiological Studies, color graphics could be used in online version of the manuscript. For color figures printed in hardcopy of OandHS contact with editorial.
All graphical materials (ChemDraw, ISIS/Draw, Photoshop, CorelDraw, Excel, etc.) may include line drawings (both computer- and hand-drawn), photographs, maps, etc. They should not exceed 12 x 18 cm in size, including captions, minimum resolution 300 dpi, For optimal reproduction, illustrations should be provided 140% of the final size with a max. width of 12 cm and max. height of 18 cm. Legends, if required, should be an integral part of the figures. All figures should not require additional processing. The lines and symbols must be readable!. The smallest font that may be used is Arial 8 pt, the finest line 0.02 mm. Electronic versions of the figures should be provided as TIFF, GIF, CDR, BMP, WPG or WMF files!, If you are not sure of quality send us an oryginal Corel, Statistica, Excel, Surfer files. Printed photographs must show good contrast and be accompanied by their electronic versions saved as high-resolution TIFF, GIF, BMP or JPG files. The list of figures should be provided on a separate sheet. All figures should be numbered consecutively with Arabic numerals, and should be printed on separate sheets; their electronic versions should be saved as separate files!. The number of the figure and the name(s) of the author(s) should be written in pencil or printed on each sheet. The OandHS can not accept application files (for example PowerPoint, Word, etc.). All figures must be referred to in the text, e.g. (Fig. 1) in their ascending order. Written copyright permission must be obtained for any graphics already published elsewhere in the same form. The source of the material should be credited at the end of the figure legend. The copyright holder may specify the exact language that is to be used.

Maps:
Placed maps and plans should be schematic with noted main points e.g. names of water reservoirs, continents, names of countries or greater cities. Must contain the indication of the North direction, scale, and/or the width and the longitude. If you intend to use the part of the original map it must contain the description of the source whence originates and you should have the owner agreement. The source of the material should be credited at the end of the map, plan legend. The copyright holder may specify the exact language that is to be used.
