W miarę możliwości powinny być używane jednostki z układu SI oraz stopnie Celsjusza dla temperatury, w razie konieczności mogą być używane powszechne jednostki z poza układu SI, takie jak: Dla czasu - minuta (min.), godzina (h); dla objętości - decymetr sześcienny (dm3); dla masy - tona (t); dla miary kąta - stopie (o), minuta ('), sekunda (''). W jednostkach złożonych powinno się używać potęg ujemnych, np.: (cm2 s-1]. Użyj spacji między liczebnikiem a jednostkami miarami, z wyjątkiem: stopni, procentów i Svedberg (5oC, 5%, 5S).
