| Abstract: | Phytoplankton samples collected from Maltański Reservoir in 1991-1992, 1993-1996, and 2005 were analyzed qualitatively and quantitatively. Low phytoplankton abundance and biomass were observed in the periods following reservoir refilling (1993, 2005). Large-bodied, filterfeeding zooplankton controlled the development of phytoplankton. The next phase of reservoir evolution showed increases in the abundance and biomass of phytoplankton. 1 Corresponding author: akozak@amu.edu.pl Original research paper Received: Accepted: December 20, 2006 May 14, 2007 |
